Australia Post provides Australia’s mail delivery, retail and specialist services. There have been many data warehousing initiatives in Australia Post that DBAInc consultants have been involved in over the last nine years.
Requirement
One of the key projects DBAInc has most recently worked on has involved implementing a datawarehouse and associated reporting.
Solution/Services
DBAInc consultants provided physical design for the data warehouse and data marts and were also involved in the development of OLAP cubes for end user self consumption. DBAInc consultants continued to support the 7 Terrabyte Oracle Data Warehouse and SQL Server based data mart environments. The environment supports approx. 1200 users. This implementation has involved complex application interfaces from Retail, Mails & HR Operational systems, which have required performance tuning for optimal load performance.
DBAInc has also spent the last two years with the implementation and productionization of Business Objects Enterprise XI suite. DBAInc have contributed with subject matter expertise to the Australia Post business to move forward with numerous reporting initiatives. They are also engaged in setting up Business Objects universes and administering the Business Objects product suite.

The systems have provided greater visibility to business information and enabled pivotal business intelligence to be extracted efficiently from the datawarehouse.
